  • Compressing Time?

    Hi all,

Well, we’ve got a screening tonight of our feature.
When the editor left last night, he set off a Quicktime and an m2v/ac3.
The Quicktime is done, and I’m sending it on to be transferred, but we also wanted to have a DVD backup.

However, the Compressor Batch Monitor says that 9 hours have elapsed and there are still 17 to go?
Can this be correct? Its a 90 minute feature.

    Thanks,
    Kim

    It’s entirely possible.

    What are your system specs?

What is the source format (on the timeline)?

What format was the Quicktime file that finished? Can you use that as the source for the DVD, rather than recompressing the timeline?

Were there any “Frame Controls” used in the compressor batch? (that’s a biggie)

Can the place that’s making your transfer throw in a DVD backup from the master tape?
