Compressing MTS files to mp4 – taking over 40 hours to compress on a trash can!
I have files shot on a Canon Vixia that are MTS. I need to get them compressed and onto my website in mp4 format. (I have an online storyboard where my clients can pick the scenes for the edited video, but I upload greatly compressed clips). My normal workflow is to run them through EditReady to convert to mov and then compressor to compress and convert to mp4. I already converted through EditReady. I dropped them into compressor on Wednesday around 6pm and they still weren’t done by lunch today on a Mac Pro trash can.
I reduce from 1080p to 720p, reduce the bitrate, and convert to mp4 during the Compressor step.
Anything obvious I’m doing wrong or some way I can do this quicker?
