Compressing mp4s as part 2 instead of part 10
I am trying to bring mp4 files (created on a Mac) into a proprietary program called inLighten Video iBox Director (which is on a PC). Apparently this software only supports mpr part 2 files. From what has been explained to me, Mac uses an mp4 part 10 compression. Does anyone know if there is a way to change this setting in Compressor? Or if not in Compressor, could a program like Bit Vice do the trick? Thanks in advance.

Here is our workflow:
Export out of Final Cut Pro 5 as quicktime mov/quicktime ref
Import into compressor,set as a default mp4 -

MPEG 4 Part 10 by another name is H264. There are a variety of MP4 supported in Compressor. For example look at the Quicktime 6 compatible presets instead of the Quicktime 7 compatible presets.

The Mac can easily handle and create either MPEG-4 type. Usually you just choose ‘MPEG-4’ rather than H.264 (which is MPEG-4 part 10).
You can perform this in any Quicktime aware application whether it’s Quicktime Pro or compressor or FCP. Start from one of the presets in any of the applications and it should be fine.
