I’m going to be shooting a rock concert this coming weekend. The act would like the video to look something like old 16mm footage you see of bands from the 70’s when you watch VH1 Classic. I’m going to be using a DVX100b shooting in 24PA for the main camera, but I also have some handycams that only shoot 29.97 that I’d like to use for B-roll to do some cutaways (they won’t look as nice, but it’ll let me break up the action a little.)
I saw that Compressor 3 can change the frame rate of the 29.97 and have it look less choppy/glitchy than if I just dump the 29.97 into a 23.98 timeline. But they don’t have a built in option to go directly from 29.97 to 23.98. They have built in presets for going from 23.98 to 24, 24 to 25, 23.98 to 25, 30 to 29.97, but no 29.97 to 23.98. Does anybody know what the percentage of the change would be for me to put into the percent change box under frame control/retiming controls?

Thanks in advance for any help,
    Andy

This has been covered tons at the Cow, you’ll find a lot using the search function. (As well as google)
