    Hi,

I am having a problem compressing a video for the web. The video looks great until the credits come onto the screen at the end.

I am using Compressor to export a Quicktime with these settings:

    Codec: H.264
    FSP: 30
    Keyframes: Automatic
Data rate: restricted to 775 kbits/sec
    Image size: 480X320

I turn on frame controls, set everything to “Best” and I have it set to progressive scanning.

The video originally had a black bar behind the text with 50% opacity, and I thought that was causing some problems when trying to compress. When I removed the black bar, the text still breaks up at the end.

I have tried setting keyframes every 10 frames and every 30 frames, I’ve tried increasing the data rate, nothing seems to fix this problem.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Here is a link to the video. Like I said, it’s the credits near the end that break up, the rest of the video comes out nice.

Works best if you use Firefox or Safari. And you’ll need Quicktime player installed on your computer.

    Thanks for the help guys.

Ummm, that’s a quite intesting type of breakup of the text.
I suggest changing your keyframe setting to every 300 frames.

Also, you have distorted the video by choosing a frame size that is neither 4:3 or 16:9 – what aspect ratio are you aiming at? It *has* to be one or the other, as it is, your circular medals are oval and everybody looks short and fat!

See this to choose the right size:

oh, you’re right. that flash calculator says it should be 480X360. I had 480X320.

    Thanks.
