As far as video compression, if you have FCP5, many recommend “H.264”.
[theBeev] “They’ve told me to send the project at a maximum of 1.5 Mb/sec”
Isn’t that just the speed at which the file TRANSFER takes place, and NOT anything to do with the compression on the file ITSELF?
When I do this, I just export the DV timeline to a Quicktime Movie (SELF-contained, Current Settings) and then just upload that QT file (without further compression) to the station’s FTP site.
That station opens the DV file and transfers it to tape (for backup) and a server (for on-air playback).
Using a DSL link, a 30 sec. DV spot takes me about 50+ minutes to upload.
Regardless, you need to discuss this and find out EXACTLY what the folks on the other end NEED.
(And I’m not just givin’ you “the business”, Beev!)
