So in a nutshell, here is what I am trying to accomplish using Apple Automator.
When an After Effect render finishes, I want to automatically have the video file compressed in QuickTime using the most recent settings.

I have a workflow action that does the QuickTime bit, (https://mac.softpedia.com/get/Automator-Actions—Workflows/QuickTime-Compression-Actions-and-Workflow.shtml) but what the part I cannot figure out is how to trigger automator do do this both when the render is complete and for that matter, to know where it should be looking in the 1st place.

I have tried a number of variations using watch folders, post-render emails, and even rendering out a single frame in AE after the main render in order to trigger the Automator action, and some of these come close, but none fully work, or if they do, they require me to click on something, which defeats the purpose!

I’m curious if anyone has any knowledge in this realm they could share.

    Thanks!
