Okay, I’m new but not really. I’m finally taking a class (because it finally became available) here in my state. Anyways, my question is:

*If you drop a larger size comp into a smaller size comp, but then make it broadcast safe within the action safe lines, etc., will it effect anything?*
Basically, does only the final comp matter when it comes to size when rendering out? Does it affect quality? And vise versa? Smaller comp into a larger size comp?
My classes wont begin until June 14th. Any help would be greaaaaaatly appreciated! Thanks AE Pros!!!!

As far as the final render, yes, your final comp size is what determines the size of the frame, unless you stretch it in the render queue settings.
As far as the quality- larger comp in smaller comp, you put more info in a smaller frame, it has the tendency to look better ( in some HD TV productions, like promos, the work is done in 2k and then it’s resized and cropped to HD). Smaller comp in bigger comp- you definitely loose quality.
