    Hi All:

I am a high level (not quite expert) user of maya and a high intermediate user of AE. I have rendered out a CG scene in MAYA that includes many different types of isolated passes this includes diffuse and ambient and beauty passes.

What’s the work flow in AE to assemble them correctly I thought I could mas out areas and that sometimes works, but not always. Similarly with things like diffuse and ambient passes I assumes comping would be a matter of blending modes, but I am getting inconsistent or unpredictable results. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks As always,

Check your alpha interpretation settings in AE.

could you be a tad more specific. What I mean is, do I need to pre-multiply or do I need to ignore and if the former than with what? Or am I miss-reading your post entirely?

    Thanks

It has to match what you’re rendering from Maya, which I believe is premultiplied. I was thinking that this could be causing your “unpredictability”
