    Hey folks,

Basically as a school project we have the task of creating a beer commercial set on a beach. For budget and weather reasons we can’t shoot on a beach so we’re forced to shoot it all purely on bluescreen.

This is going to be quite a task for the compositor(myself) so I’m just looking to see if anyone has any suggestions. We have a full blue screen studio with grid and we have a few options for how we’re going to composite the sand into the environment.

    1. Put sand down on the bluescreen floor and composite in the sky.
    2. Composite the sand in digitally.

I want to do it digitally, but I don’t have any way of knowing how good this will work. What program would you guys suggest to do this and do you have any ideas on the best way to tackle it? I have After Effects 7 Pro, Combustion 4, and Maya 8.5 available to me and we’re shooting on 1080p.

    Any input would be good!

    Thanks a lot,
    Adam Bloemink
