  • Compositing modes and why I can not get mine to work…

I am messing around with the “modes” in After Effects and when I try to switch the mode on a layer, lets say to overlay, I see no difference in footage I am trying to combine. Why is that? I use Sony Vegas and when I try to combine layers using compositing modes it works fine, please help.

Is that because of opengl interpretation or lack of it? Try edit>prefs>previews>openglinfo and change quality drop down menu to “more accurate” alternately disbale opengl.
This is what I recall from the text although my vid card radeon 600 displays belnding modes fine in default quality

Thank you so much maurice, that did the trick. It was my open GL setting, I had to switch it to “more accurate”.
