Compositing live video with alpha while adding reflective floor
I have footage of a ballet dancer with a fixed camera position (green screen background keyed out in AE). The issue is (and this is an obvious one) while using this as a texture on a plane object to composite into my scene, the farther away from the original camera the dancer goes, the higher she goes the plane object…which would be ok except that I want to have reflections on a floor object and the higher the dancer goes on the plane, the more separated she gets from the reflection. I could continuously adjust the height of the plane to keep her feet on the floor object, but this is not ideal and hard to avoid jumps. I’ve watched tutorials on camera calibration, etc., but it doesn’t seem to be the solution. Any help or pointing to online tutorials re: this issue would be greatly appreciated.
A smaller issue with this technique is that a) with a light-textured floor, the dancer video plane creates a grey line where it intersects and b) while my GS key has pretty good edges on the original image, reflections on a lighter surface have an ugly blackish halo.
Have R18 and also current AE.
Thanks for any pointers!
Jeff
