Composite in Avid
Hey,
I’m currently in the process of remembering how to use Avid after a couple of years on FCP. Not doing too badly BUT…I’ve been given 3 jpgs from the GFX department… overlay, matte and background.
I need them to come together around some video footage so you can see the footage only in the middle.Over the top there is an old film effect the overlay which looks like dirt in a lens.
I’ve managed to get it to look how they want it but somehow the video footage is still picking up some white from the overlay (or somewhere, so the image isn’t looking as sharp).
Also, the speckles that are over the top (the dirt in the lens) seem a little bluer than they should. They should be black. Not sure if I’m explaining this properly or not :/
Anyway, I got it working by having the overlay at the top, which I then put a matte filter on, below that is the background, then the video footage and then the matte.
Does that sound right? It doesn’t sound right to me…
Any help would be appreciated.
