I just recieved my Avid Xpress Pro HD with Mojo. I am working with DV25 footage from a Sony DSR-45 DVCAM VTR with both firewire and component I/O. Ultimatly I have to get the shows out of the AVID and onto DigiBeta for playback. My question, is there any advantage in utilizing the componet I/O capablilities with the Mojo in both capturing and outputing my footage and shows? Thanks in advance for any comments you may have.

In your situation, I’d say FW is best – it stays digital the whole way.

I can’t think of any reason to capture via component in this situation. Doing so will eat up a lot more drive space unnecessarily, and the footage won’t be of “better” quality.
I’d say edit in DV25 and then output to DigiBeta via whatever your best output option is (SDI, Component, etc.)
