    Hello again,

Still trying to decide on a field monitor to use in conjunction to use with my brevis35 for focus and quick color checking.

I’m looking at 2 monitors I’ll list below from a previous post but another question is this. I know I can monitor out of the HVX via component to 1080i and 720p but is there also a way to not only monitor the video signal but also any of features usually seen on the viewfinder or cam monitor, namely the focus assist features or all numerical information? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just don’t have a monitor around to check this.

From the previous post here are the two monitors I’m speaking about.

Tote Vision LCD-703HD (Can pick up a kit with battery for around $800)
Marshall V-R70P-HDA LCD Monitor (Cost around 1,200 to 1,500 for monitor alone)
Nebtek NEB70HD (Around 1600 adds peaking for focus assist)

    Thanks again,

[Rich Sims] “is there also a way to not only monitor the video signal but also any of features usually seen on the viewfinder or cam monitor, namely the focus assist features or all numerical information?”

In the Display Setup menu you can turn on the ‘Video Out OSD’. As far as I can tell, the focus assist functions don’t go out to the external monitor.

Hey Rich. It seems your link to the tote vision monitor is busted.

In whatever monitor you choose (the tote looks cool), see if it has a 1:1 option. That way the image will not get scaled down to the monitor resolution and you can more easily check focus with your 35mm adapter. It’s basically what the focus assist does (shows you a small portion of the full frame HD video in the viewfinder or on camera LCD monitor with no scaling down to the monitor’s resolution).

    Make sense?
