Complicated Mess with Timeline Cuts
Hi,
I hope somebody can help me please.
I got myself in a VERY unusual complicated mess. Please try and follow me.
I shot footage on Red camera and then converted them to an easy to edit format (640×480) low quality. The idea is that, once I finish editing, I simply re-link to the original full res files. Now on getting to FCP, I found out that FCP multicam does not support the 640×480. Now within FCP, I used the Media Manager to recompress my 640×480 clips to Apple ProRes files. This now allowed me to edit using the Multicam feature.
Now I have finish editing, I want to now relink to my original FULL RES footages using the unique footage names/id before sending to color for grading. When I select the clips in my bin and choose reconnect, find the original full res clip and select it, I get an error >> 1689_screenshot20110301at07.00.46.png.zip
I was wondering a way out. Can I not export my “Cuts” as an xml then create a new project with the FULL RES sequence settings, import my FULL RES clips and simply apply the XML cut to them? that way FCP will automatically chop all the footages at the right places using the XML file?
I hope it makes sense?
Many thanks for your help in advance.
