I am a complete newbie to the Vegas editing software and have purchased vegas 11 pro and video editing software in genereal. I am trying to put together a highlight video for my son and was wondering how I could highlight him in a video to draw your attention to where he is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

many way to highlight him on video. You can make a circle around him using cookie cutter from video fx, or make an arrow to point him… etc.
    try with videofx. good luck.

    Hello Jon.

You can get the arrows from cookie cutter as well.

Select cookie cutter from videofx, choose any preset,
and you can change the shape from drop down menu.
    There are arrowhead, arrowhead right….

Reduce the size to see whole arrow, and use track motion or event pan/crop
    for the position.

    Hope, you figure it out!
By the way, where is the post? I couldn’t find it at the list.
