  • Complete Audio drop out in FCP project

Ive been editing an older project for a revision. I relinked all the files and was just about done and the audio dropped out on the playback. The files are connected, the audiogram shows the waves, the meter is moving but no sound. The speaker is not turned off in the timeline and the audio bar on the computer is up.

I cant figure out what happened. I logged out and restarted FCP but no sound in all 4 audio timelines.

FCP 6.04, Macbook pro 2.8 Duo, 4 Ghz RAM

Apart from restarting, what else have you tried? How are you monitoring? If it is via an I/O card, have you checked its settings.

Have you powered down, counted to ten and done a restart?

Can you open a different sequence and get audio? Can you get any audio out from anything on the computer?

Check the system preferences to make sure the audio outputs haven’t been switched on you. And I have to reset the Kona card when I go between HD and SD

Non-linear: all the time and nothing but.

David, you have to get your footage into h.264 with HTML 5 tags so I can see it on my iPhone!

Use the render manager and trash all of your audio render files.
