so I have never had any luck getting Vegas Video 12 to work with any of my graphics cards I purchased over the years.

    They include

    nvidia 750gt
    nvidia 730gt
    nvidia 640

There were some brief moments where my card did in fact work with vegas and I was rewarded with super fast rendering times, it all was fleeting as eventually I would get intolerable BSODs or Vegas would lock up.

I just recently purchased a HP760e with a i7 processor and 32mb of Ram. It should be a screaming machine but I it comes with a nvidia 745gt card. Will vegas work with this card? or should I return the whole package to Costco.

Are there a list of compatible cards or at the very least cards that you guys are personally aware of that are indeed compatible?

Does the new version of Vegas resolve this issue?

    Cheers.

Vegas Pro uses OpenCL for GPU acceleration so the best cards to get are from AMD not NVIDIA. The AMD R9 380/390x would work very nicely as will the previous AMD R9 280/290x.

Note: that the MainConcept AVC encoder only works with very old cards (circa 2010). Nothing newer than ATI Radeon HD 6000 series or NVIDIA 500 Series will be recognized which could be why your NVIDIA 600 and 700 cards weren’t working.

So if you want to get the most out of GPU acceleration in Vegas Pro, you want an ATI/AMD card not NVIDIA.
