Compatibility Issues with FCP 5.1 and 5.0.4 ????
My company has three systems that have 5.0.4 on them and we are getting 3 additional system that I’m guessing will have 5.1 on them.
The three new systems will be for editing while the 3 older systems will be for ingestion and output to tape.
Are there going to be issues becuse the edit systems have 5.1 while the others have 5.0.4?
I’m thinking the other 3 need to be crossgraded to 5.1, but I wanted to confirm this before I mention it to management.

Yes, you should get them all up to speed so they match.
You’ll have problems if you ever need to open a 5.1 project in 5.0.4. And by “prolbems” I mean, it won’t work.
If you don’t think that’s ever going to happen, then it’s not a problem. But I suspect the chances of that are quite low. Fortunately the crossgrade price is amazingly low.
