compatability question
so i’m running 3 avid adrenalines on G5s. And i also have a final cut suite with and aja kona 3 with the breakout box. Anyone know or heard if it’s possible to buy the media composer software version and try to use a 3rd party break out box to do ins and outs. i figure along with the dongle there’s some sort of blocking thing so you can’t do it. but i’m curious. thanks

I think you’re probably right. Avid software is extremely picky about any hardware attached to it and is very limited in that regard (as opposed to FCP/Premiere, etc…that seem to encourage 3rd party hardware development). So 3rd party hardware is most likely not going to work…the Mojo and Adrenaline are going to be your choices.

It won’t work. The Mojo, Mojo SDI and Adrenaline box are your only options. While it would be nice to have more options, it’s the Avid way.
