  Comp window darkens with every click (PC)

  Hi

  On several different projects, ranging from long 90 layer ones to very simple single layer ones, I’ve been getting a wierd occurrence where the comp window starts to get progressively darker every time I do something like turn a layer off or move the CTI.

  I started to see this a few months ago and it got so bad that I did a full reinstall of OS and apps, but it didn’t fix the problem. I’ve tried different versions of the graphics card drivers (GeForce), and editing with Open GL off but still get the problem.

  Purging the memory stops it temporarily, but usually AE will then crash to the desktop a few minutes later. Updating to AE 6.5.1 made no difference.

  Has anyone here come across this or can anyone suggest any workarounds?

  I found a thread about it on the Adobe forum from last year, but no solutions.
