    Hi all,

I am running AFX CS3 on a Dual Xeon with 2 gigs of ram. The OS is XP Pro SP2.

I have a question about setting up a Composition and the respective Render settings based on my client’s specs (actual specs see below):

    >Length
    >60 seconds

    >Specifications
    >720p with mpeg4 video and mp3 audio

    >Ratio
    >16:9

    >Frame rate
    >24 fps

    >File types/extensions needed
    >.mpeg, mp4, mov. .wmv, .flv

I have set up the Comp as follows:

    Width 1280
    Height 720
    Aspect ratio locked to 16:9
Pixel Aspect Ratio – Square Pixels
    Frame Rate 24 fps
    Comp length 1440 frames (60 secs * 24 fps)

All of this is pretty basic straightforward stuff.

    The questions are:

    1. Should I assume that the frame rate should indeed be set to 24 fps
as my client requested or should the AFX frame rate really be set to
    23.976 fps?

    2. In order to render as my client requests – “mpeg4 video and mp3 audio”, In the render queue, I was going to use for
Video: Format of Quick-time Movie with a MPEG-4Video Compression Type. But I am unsure how to set up the audio as MP3 at the same time. I see that AFX has a Audio only preset for MP3 but how do you
render this with your Video specs?

    3. The final question has to do with the last part of the specs
“File types/extensions needed .mpeg, mp4, mov. .wmv, .flv”

With the exception of .mov (which I assume indicates a Quick time render with No compression), I guess the remaining file types are better handled outside of AFX in something like Sorensen?

    – But if I use AFX, is the “MPEG2” the correct format to use for creating a .mpeg file?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike
