Comp preview not showing animation when dragging the timeline
Hi, I’m on CS4 on a mac
All of a sudden – completely randomly the comp preview is not playing any animation when I drag the timer ruler in the timeline.
The preview button is still playing the animation – but its not useful as I need to see how the animation is working as i drag the timer ruler.
Never happened before – I’ve tried a force quit, restart on after effects.
Not sure how to fix this at all.
when i drag the timer ruler – the comp window just shows the frame I stop dragging the timer ruler to. but doesn’t play anything in between.

There’s a button on either the composition panel or the timeline panel that turns off interactive previewing. I forget exactly where it is because it’s not present in current versions of the software. If you show me a screenshot of your project with timeline and comp panel visible, I can probably point that little toggle button out to you.
