  • Comp Loop/Time remapping with some changes?

I know, the subject is pretty vague, but here’s what I’d like to do with hopefully some help.

I have a 30 second nested comp. My main comp is 25 minutes. I’ve added the loopOut(“cycle”, 0) in the time remap expression and now my 30 second clip lasts throughout the 25 minute comp.

I’d like each iteration or every xx minutes of the loop to also change the color/hue/sat. of that nested comp. How could I go about doing that via an expression or is there an easier/better way to do it?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

That’s not really possible – the math is no problem, but the Hue/ Saturation effect uses compound controls which are not separately accessible. You can use the levels effect, but you still need to have sensible values for your expressions, so it’s not really easier than keyframing manually. Your best bet is to tint your footage using solids applied in different blendmodes. Thes can easily be staggered by using the “Sequence Layers” keyframe assistant.

Thanks for the quick response. So would the following make sense to do:

    1) Take my 30 second comp-A and include in comp-B
    2) Time remap comp-A in CompB and duplicate comp-a multiple times in comp-b with color effects
    3) Include comp-B in a new Comp-C?

Yes, that would be a sensible route to take. Just take care to not mes up the composition lengths and framerates.
