command+R not rendering
my apple commands seem to be going haywire…Apple+R will only render audio…Apple+F12 no longer switches the canvas to full screen.
any ideas?

Well, for the rendering, when you go to Sequence > Render (or Render All), make sure all those colored bars have check marks next to them. Whatever is check marked is what FCP renders when you press Command + R or Option + R.
For your screen issue, have you gone to View > Video Playback and make sure the proper selection is checked?
