command-x not working from one day to next
command-x, to cut in any application, stopped working today. 2.66 ghz intel core duo imac 2009 osx 10.5.8.
tried disk utility, restart, keyboard shortcut reset, keyboard assign in fcp – nothing. maybe a keyboard issue? shift-x cuts now – command-c and v and z etc still work. the x itself (as you can see here) still works, too.
any ideas?

if it is happening in every app, could be a bad keyboard, or the mapping of system commands. Just any other command anything work, like command-s?
