combining video files
I’m trying to combine some video clips. Using:
cat index_0.mp4 index_30.mp4 index_60.mp4| ffmpeg -i – -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f mp4 comp.mp4
gives me
Output file is empty, nothing was encoded (check -ss / -t / -frames parameters if used)
And the output is a file that will not play. Suggestions??

ffmpeg -i concat:”file1|file2|file3″ -c:v copy -c:a copy “combined.mp4”
there are other approaches, but i think this one is easy on the eyes. plus, video specs have to be exactly the same.

A few multimedia containers (MPEG-1, MPEG-2 PS, DV) allow to concatenate video by merely concatenating the files containing them.
