I am having a odd problem.

I have 40 sequences that I am putting together to make one large sequence. (20 dance numbers as separate sequences with 20 intros – one for each dance)

I am trying to add a transition between each sequence. Once I render the transistion, it makes the 2nd clip/sequence out of sync with the audio — the incoming video clip starts to play then flashes and repeats itself — the audio stays the same, so the video is then out of sync.

Now, if I “mess up” the render by moving the incoming clip and then putting it back and re-rendering, then it’s fine. BUT, when I go to render other parts, it also re-renders the previous transitions that I’ve fixed (even though it shows it doesn’t need to be rendered) and it messes it up again!

Are you following this? Does anyone understand what is happening or have any suggestions on what I can do to fix the issue???

Yes. I’m actually changing both the in and out points on each sequence to tighten it up. However, the transition that I’m adding is a Digital Juice Swipe movie file that is laid on the track above both sequences. It has an alpha channel and one frame that is full screen to cover the cut.

I can’t figure out why it’s doing this.

It’s doing it on every one. I might have to make movie files of each sequence and then create a sequence that has each new movie file instead of combining all sequences. It would take so much time…. But, I’m wasting a lot of time with this and getting no results.

I am writing a year later to tell you that I fixed the problem.
(I do a yearly video where this comes into play and this year I started having the problem again, but I figured it out, so I thought I’d post here in case anybody read it later and needed a fix)

So, let’s say I am bringing in 10 sequences in a final sequence. If I put 3 of them on Video track 1 and the remaining 7 on video track 2-5, I was getting out of sync issues with the videos on TRACK 1 only. If I fixed the first one, then the 2nd and 3rd would become out of sync.

So, I moved the sequences up off of TRACK 1 and then PRESTO, no more nesting problems! WHy? I’m not sure. But, it is a fix. By moving those sequences off of Video Track 1, it was all fixed and I have no more problems. 🙂
