  • Combining renders results in jagged project

I rendered a project in uncompressed AVI; then I rendered an intro in uncompressed AVI – then I combined them into 1 project and rendered them in compressed wmv format (a format I have consistently used for online vid hosting).

The resulting vid was jagged – like you sometimes see when previewing a project that’s pulling a lot of cpu power.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Why are you rendering your project so many times, leave off
rendering to the uncompressed AVI format, have everything on
your timeline (its not hard, Vegas can do more than you think
    it can
). Then do one rendering to your compressed wmv format.
Which is not even the best option for online media.

I originally tried to do that, but when I tried to pull the intro into the project invariably the intro tracks align themselves with project tracks I didn’t want them to. Also I was having issues with track motion and keyframes transferring over.

I asked a friend who is in the industry and he was the one that suggested the multi-rendering. He said it’s done a lot with large projects. But he’s at a loss as to why this is happening – although, he doesn’t upload to the internet so maybe it’s going to a compressed format from one that’s not?

You dont need to do Multi-Rendering, You can simply
drop each saved project file on one timeline and do one
    render (Its called Nesting).
And for online destination, use the Sony AVC or Mainconcept AVC
format with the corresponding Internet Template.

Make sure “Snap” is turned off.
