    Hello,

My Q on this forum is:

Is it possible to combine fields from separate source videos i.e mix the lower field from one source and the upper from another and render this out interlaced ?

Is there a plugin that might do the job?

    All the best,

    SM

I wanted to register as ‘Natternoise’, using my Real Name’s not as fun

this has actually been discussed before…. i can’t remember all the solutions, but one of the easier ways seemed to be the ‘3d glasses’ effect.

it has the capability to let you select a source layer for the upper field and a source layer for the lower field. not exactly the purpose of the effect, but it think it should work for what you are asking.

Brilliant, Kevin — that’s it. The effect (under “perspective”) settings would probably be:

    Left view: one footage layer
Right view: the other footage layer
    Convergence offset: 0
    3D view: interlace Upper L Lower R

    Thanks everyone for your input.

Dave, I followed your instructions (a logical process when I think about it) and got the desired result.

I had thought it may create an interesting ghosting effect to 2 separate moving elements filmed against the same static background. Just experimenting.

    Cheers,
