I am putting together a compilation of videos onto one standard NTSC 29.97 timeline with the intention of rendering an MPEG-2 with those same settings to go into DVD Architect with. 90% of the videos I’m using match those settings. But I do have a few videos which were shot in 1920×1080 24p. When I try just nesting the HD Vegas project onto the timeline and rendering to an MPEG, there is a ton of ghosting on all the motion due to the difference in framerate. So how can I get my 24p HD video to match my 29.97 SD timeline so that when I render it to an MPEG-2 it looks normal? I’m trying to minimize the loss of quality (as much as you can when going from HD to SD).

I would render the 24p project as MPEG2 with 2:3 pulldown. This will make it 29.97. Then use that footage in your main project and it should look fine.
