Combine/Merge Session Files?
Posted by Ken Teutsch on August 25, 2014 at 6:35 pmIs it possible somehow to merge two (or more) Audition multi-track sessions, or import the tracks from one into another?
I can’t seem to find any way to do it, though I understand there may be some third party workaround…
?

February 19, 2019 at 12:42 amKen, Did you find a way to merge two Audition sessions?
I just received audio for a film in two OMF files. The client split the film into two halves and I need to merge the two halves together. I want to insure that audio tracks share the same mixer tracks, plus there will be music and sound design that spans where the two halves meet.
If you or anyone has a clue about how to merge Audition .sex projects, or merge OMF files, please share!
thanks,

I just received audio for a film saved as two .omf files (which will import in Adobe Audition). The client split the film into two halves and I need to merge the two halves together. I want to insure that audio tracks share the same mixer tracks, plus there will be music and sound design that spans where the two halves meet.
Anyone know of a way to merge either .omf files, or Audition’s .sesx project files?

February 19, 2019 at 1:45 pmUh… I’m sorry, but at this point I’m not even sure what I was trying to do back in 2014. (Early onset stupidity.) I do see that nobody answered my question, though.
There is a program (that used to be free but now isn’t) called ses2sesx that converts old Audition files to the newer format. You might Google that up and a look at it. I’ve used it, but..again..long ago. I don’t recall if it will combine session files or not.

February 19, 2019 at 5:14 pmThanks for the reply. I looked at the Sexs2sesx app, but its a Windows app. I’m on a Mac and don’t want to deal with Windows emulation, so I’ll just have to deal with the copy/paste routine and try to get the two halves to align.
