  Combine AVIs and Compress to MPEG-1/2

  Hello,
  I am needing this information for a PC. Something simpler than Premiere Pro, in a standalone *cheap* program for converting 9min AVIs to MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. We are using nNovia drives to capture footage as we shoot and simply need to bring those back to the office and combine/convert the AVIs. I know how to do this very easily on the MAC, but I need to be able to tell my PC friends how to do it as I am selling some of the nNovias. The nNovia has the 2GB file limit, hence the need to combine footage. If you have any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated. Quality is important as well as speed.
