Hi, can anyone advise? fcp 10.6.8 Im doing a pop video for a friend. Ive condensed the final edit to a single clip. I then did some colour and vintage washes and super 8. and sent it to him. Then he asked for an Asteroid city pastel wash instead. So I went back and turned off the effects and tried to export a clean version for reference- but it keeps coming out as the super 8 version. Then I took the clip away to a new event, added magenta wash and that exports as the super 8 version still! So I restarted fcp dumping preferences. After a minor panic I found the original. In the viewer it shows as clean, but when I export it – its still super 8 graded. Am I going mad?

Yes, you are going mad, as evidenced by the fact you consciously chose to be a video editor. It happens to us all.

As for your issue, I’ve never seen FCPX do this before. Be sure you have the correct Project selected. Make extra sure.

    I’d recommend the following.

Turn off background rendering in Settings.

Delete all render files for that library (via File menu).

Reboot Mac, relaunch FCPX holding Opt+Cmd to delete prefs (yes, again).

If that doesn’t work, just out of curiosity, go to Movies folder, to FCP Backups folder, open on of those backups to see if the same issue persists.

If so, move FCPX from Applications folder to Trash.

    In App Store reinstall FCPX.

If you still have issues, the Project or Library may be corrupt. Need to open an older backup.
