Colour correction: removing yellow light
Hi all
Have recently shot some footage that has a lot of yellow light in it. Which of the colour correction tools is best for removing the yellow? I dont want to strip out all the yellow, i just want to reduce it, leaving me with a more balanced piece of footage.Cheers

Without seeing a screenshot, I would recommend either:
i) Curves – Add blue mids, remove red mids to cool the shot down.
ii) Hue/Saturation – Just select the yellows, and tweak the saturation and possibly the hue a touch.If you want even more control on it, use Color Finesse and tweak your yellows in the secondary tab. Select your range, then push the hue offset towards the blue to neutralise your yellow.

As ben mentioned, yellow is directly related to blue, so if you want to remove yellow you must increase the blue component. You can do this quite easily with the “Color Correction>Levels” tool. Apply it to the footage, and use the dropdown to select the blues.
