If it comes to colour-correction I’m also still learning, but I don’t think any special software was used to colour-correct this video. Any 3-way-corrector will do. Plus I see a couple of vignettes which aren’t too complicated to create in any kind of editing software.

I’m not familiar enough with Vegas, but I if I remember correctly, it has a built-in 3-way corrector.

I recently bought two books by Steve Hullfish (“Color Correction For Video” and “The Art And Technique Of Digital Color Correction”) which I can really recommend. They give very deep insight into the subject, and are very clearly written (quite important, for me since english is not my native language). Bought them on Amazon.

Another book was recommended here on the COW by Anna Chiaretta in this thread: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/280/8702
Haven’t had the opportunity to check it out, but it seems, it is also a very valuable resource.

You might want to do a COW search on “color correction”, there are a lot of very good tutorials for Premiere Pro and After Effects (sadly not Vegas), but they are very valuable to learn about the principles how colour-correction tools work.

“MB Looks” is more like an “effects” software to create cinematic colour effects and has some great features to add … well, looks to your film… Like glows, grain, colour-shifts, etc…

    Hope this helps a bit…

Thanks for the suggestion and i will probably buy on of the two books mentioned by you.
The problem isn’t color correction its how to achieve the look in the link provided by me earlier.
If anyone knows of a tutorials which explains this.

I have a Sony Fs100 so i can shoot how they shoot but ill always never understand how they achieve this look.

I’d investigate recommended “film look” camera profile settings for the FS100 – most cameras have ways to select and customize how the camera handles color, sharpness etc.

That sounds like a good idea and i will do some searches on how to optimize my camera.
However i know that alot can be done via the colour correction tool.
If someone has a tutorial of this i would highly appreciate this.

Ive tried to grade but can never come close to some of the videos ive seen and the one i provided aswell in my thread above.

It as if they have a special grading tool or someting ive not yet come across. If so i would like to see if i can purchase this.

Yes there are. One of the most popular color grading applications is Magic Bullet Looks and it’s baby brother/sister product QuickLooks. This is the one I hear about and see used most often although there are others, in fact Final Cut Pro X has some new built-in looks. I am sure others here on this forum can come up with other software packages similar.

Why not simply ask them, what they used?
But I really don’t think, they used special software. You own “Looks”, don’t you? Have you checked out the various tutorials that exist? I personally like Stu Maschwitz’ tutorials on Colorista (which is included in Looks) very much? It’s amazing what he does with that fabulous piece of software!
