    Hi

Sorry to ask such a stupid question but…

I been trying to find the option in FCP where when colour correcting, you can have a little slider that goes across the image you are colour correcting and on one side of it you see what the image looked like before, and on the other you can see what it will look like after. You can also slide it left and right if you want to see how something will look over the whole image.

Sorry i don’t know what the tool is used, i’ve just seen others us it.

can anyone tell me what menu/setting i might find it under?

    Thanks

Sounds like that might be a plug-in. I’ve not seen that at all in FCP.

In Color you can quickly turn on/off the Grade to see a before / after or you can set up a split screen with a still image and the Graded shot.

I think you’re talking about the Frame Viewer – just go to Windew>Layouts>Color Correction and it’ll appear. Or go to Tools>Frame Viewer.

[Ben Lithman] “you can have a little slider that goes across the image you are colour correcting and on one side of it you see what the image looked like before, and on the other you can see what it will look like after. “

That’s called a split-screen. Look under the Tools menu. BTW, that’s in your FCP manual.

Thanks, thats exactly what i was after.

I’m sure everything you can do in FCP is in the manual, however knowing what it is called and thus what too look for in the manual are 2 different things.
