Hello! This problem has been bugging me for a while, so I thought I’d see if anyone knew a solution.

I create drawings in Macromedia Flash,
export them as Illustrator (6) .ai files,
and then import these .ai files into After Effects.

The PROBLEM is that the colors are usually off slightly. Bright colors in Flash end up looking very muted, drab in Flash. Could this have something to do with an implicit color space of Illustrator files? Is there a way to compensate?

(I can attach a screenshot to help illustrate, if necessary.)

    P.S.
The reason I export .ai files, as opposed to simply importing .swf files directly, is that .swf files do not support an alpha channel, as far as I know. Another option is to export as .png files, but I need the files to be vector-based! Thus .ai.

Oops; my post above should be corrected to say:
“Bright colors in Flash end up looking very muted, drab in After Effects.”

This probably isn’t of much help but I have a similar problem from Firework’s .png files into Photoshop. I work with 190-190-0 yellow letters (subtitles) that have an alpha channel later used to overlay on video. When I need to make fixes in Photoshop I can never get an exact 190-190-0 EYEDROP sample from existing letters. Changing to different color profiles in PREFS seems to have an effect on EYEDROP results, and that’s what I plan on looking into myself.
