  • Colors less vibrant when using Nvidia ShadowPlay when imported into Sony Vegas

Hello. I have just recently started using Nvidia’s Shadowplay, and it’s absolutely perfect. The file size/quality ratio is just perfect in my opinion. Fraps is nice, but the file sizes are larger than needed in my opinion.
This is a very minor issue, but if I can make it better… Giving it a shot is worth it.

So when I import my footage into Sony Vegas I noticed that in the preview the colors were a bit dull. I figured it was just the preview, so I rendered it a few times, only to find the colors made me want to cry.

So I tried making a few Google searches, and I found one solution. To change the levels of the video. I tried using the “Computer RGB to Studio RGB” and vise versa, and while it did feel like it removed the “whitish film” across the screen by making it darker, it still did not make the colors any better. So here is a screeshot I took. (apologies for the horrible screenshot, my trial for Photoshop has recently ran out, I resorted to using the notorious MS Paint)

So if someone can give me a few tips for either changing the properties, render settings, or video FX that can fix my issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you for the help.

EDIT: For those unaware of Nvidia ShadowPlay, it is a screen capture software. Here is a screenshot of some of the properties it captures in.
