    Hi everyone.

I was hoping to find a way to make life easier back here, but the forum seems to lack the answer to my question;)

I need to create a rather huge field of differently colored solids that need to randomly change color over time every couple of frames.
First question: can I get a randomly generated number of solids that all differ in size (lenght, width), but all keeping the same distance from each other to get sort of a border between them?
To change the color over time I´ve followed some post here that made me link a bunch of solids with “Tint” to a Null with a Color Control that I wiggled and posterized. Is there a way to avoid that the wiggle sometimes turns the color to black? Because black is the only thing that should not appear.

I hope I made myself clear enough to you guys.

    Hopeing for help

    Christian

I can’t picture how they could all be different sizes but maintain the same distance from each other. Is that even possible?

You should be able to eliminate black just by reducing the amplitude (second parameter) of the wiggle expression. You could set the value of the color control to [127,127,127] and then use something like wiggle(1,.4).

if the position was mapped out with a for loop and the xysizes were scaled independently, then you could do it pretty easily, no?

as for the colors, easy way is to have a hue/sat effect on a layer and offset the hue param.
