    Hi, I am stumped.
Have been trying for 5 hours now to get an awfully red blues concert track to look more realistic.

If I change the color with the video fx, it won’t change the entire video area, but always leaves out a little square which I presumably drew in the preview window by accident. If I dubble-click, the entire shot goes back to the original awful red, if I redraw the little square, only the little square is the old red colour, the rest of the image is looking good. But no way wil Vegas let me undo/withdraw/delete whatever the little red box entirely. If I double-click, the entire screen goes back to the original red. And there is no getting any color correction into the video space anymore. 🙁 That is, until I redraw a little red box again, and everything outside the box at least becomes the corrected color again. Sigh.

Now how can I let vegas understand that I want the entire screen to have the corrected color? And not everything except an annoying little red square?
    Please can someone help?

You have the preview window in “Split screen view,” in which it shows part of the window with FX applied and the rest without. FYI, this has no effect at all on your rendered output. It only affects what you see in the preview window.

To turn it off, click the Split Screen View button above the preview. It looks like a square with a gray circle, and half of it is darkened.
