Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy color to fcp question

  • color to fcp question

So… I do my corrections in apple color and send it back to fcp.

And while the returned footage shows changes, and is -kind of – what it looked like in Color, it’s by no stretch identical.

Overall the image is warmer (greenish) and flatter when I look in the canvas.

Why is this? Is there something I can do? Obviously I’d like to be confident that what changes I make in Color are reproduced exactly when the footage comes back to FCP…

    Thanks…

What capture card (Aja, Blackmagic, Matrox) and what calibrated broadcast monitor do you have?

You can’t work effectively with Color without these items.

Sounds like you’re using the Preview window in Color and then comparing it to the Canvas in FCP. They don’t match, never have.

You have to have an external calibrated display fed by a proper video card / external box. Such as by AJA, BlackMagic, Matrox, etc….
