  • Color Swatch Window, does this functionality exist or is it a feature request?

Different clients have different palettes and I often end up making a pre-comp with all there colors and dropping it into my master comps and make it a guide layer. It would be nice to have a dockable color swatch window like illustrator where I could save/load different clients color palettes, right in AE.

So is there a way to do this, does it exist as a script somewhere, or is this something I should ask Adobe to put on there to do list?

You have a couple script options:

But this is also a good feature request nonetheless.

I should add: I often create a composition named Palette with a null layer named Palette, and drag Color Control effects onto it. I open a new, locked effects control panel for Palette:Palette and dock it on the screen, and pickwhip colors to the locked and docked Palette ECP.

Knew somebody must have engineered a solution to this already. Thanks Walter.

You are a clever man Walter, thanks for the tip.
