  Color Swap / Accent

  Again, yet another non-professional question from the newbies.

  I suddenly noticed these little pocket cameras from Canon with the ability to do “color swap”? The user can highlight a certain color in a scene, and instantly apply it to some other object which surprising detail and accuracy. I googled everywhere, but couldn’t find a decent explanation as to HOW the camera’s sensor does this? Is it simply utilizing light wavelengths and tricking the sensor? Or is this some kind of real-time photoshop technology from space? 😛
