Color strobing on 10-bit Blackmagic AE render
**THIS POST ALSO IN AE & BLACKMAGIC FORUMS**
I’m trying to render an animated shot out of After Effects to bring into FCP 5.04, but everytime it renders down at 10-bit Uncompressed 23.98fps, I’m getting strobing on a portion of the image that is suppossed to be solid red.
In After Effects and in Final Cut the image does not seem to be strobing, but when sent to a TV there is definite strobing. Not thin line interlace strobing, but off frequencey (like a flourescent light) strobing. The red is phasing from two types of red back and forth very quickly. It does not happen when I fast forward through the footage or scrub through the footage, but if I play it down in FCP w/ the BM easy set-up 10-bit 23.98, I get strobing.
I rendered the same file down in AE at Photo-Jpeg 75% and the strobing dissappeared, but of course, we are working at 10-bit, so I need to find out what’s causing this, and if it’s going to be an issue elsewhere.
I’ve got the latest verison of the BM drivers: 5.7.2, but I’ve tried rendering it on several computers to no avail (a PC, and two Macs (one with 5.4 drivers)). I’ve got a BM Extreme Card, and like I said FCP 5.0.4.
Any info would be MUCH appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam
