Color Space 4:2:0
Posted by Jeff Kelley on September 23, 2019 at 7:33 pmHi, I’ve got a video. The people said it needs to be “color space 4:2:0
Is that something I can go in Premiere?
Thanks

September 24, 2019 at 12:13 amColor space is typically tied to a codec. ProRes 422 can only be 4:2:2…thus why it is called ProRes “422.” HDV is a format that can go 4:2:0…as are a few formats of H.264…and XDCAM. So…when they say they need it to be 4:2:0…what CODEC do they also want it to be? Only certain codecs can be 4:2;0. I’d think the codec type was more important than the color space.

Then convert that to the required codec that will allow you 4:2:0 colour subsamplingPat Horridge

October 7, 2019 at 7:30 pmThanks so much!
So the guidelines I was sent had this CODEC (as well as specifying 4:2:0)
• Video codec shall be H.264/AVC
Should I assume that will be the right color space?
