    Hi everyone.
I have noticed that exporting from fcp, using quicktime-conversion, even using the same codec ( from prores to prores) leeds to a darker picture. One should expect it to be the same, but thats not the case.

This also goes for converting it to a different codec. Exporting h246 to prores using qtconversion gets realy dark.
exporting from the timeline with adjusted setings ( eg a h264 clip on a prores timeline) doesn’t give this color-shift
Is this a typical problem for fcp 7 or is it snowleopard related.

Does anyone have encounter the same problem and more important, did someone allready find a solution, because using qtconversion is not really a goed option at this time.

Further more in doing some experiments importing uncompressed quicktimes ( uncompressed 8bit-blackmagic codec) from Filmmaster( digital vision) to fcp resultes in a strange greenish colorshift and it gets a bit washed out ( gamma shift???)

Can someone tell me if there is a workaround for this problem, or is filebased in-and exporting from fcp not done ;-(

    hope to here from you
    manny thanx

    Hi Oscar,
Normally the people around use (if they do it) for non critical exports, or for audio, Still sequences, etc.
Better avoid it unless you have a good reason to use this way.
    Cheers,
