Color Shift when rendering qts
on the job I’m designing right now, we’ve been trying to do all of our graphic overlays in AE and render from there for finish. we’re taking apple uncompressed 4:2:2 10 bit QTs from our colorist (who’s using Color), importing them into the 16bit AE project, applying overlays and then rendering back our as apple uncompressed 4:2:2 10 bit QTs. Color management is off, and the QTs are, as far as we can tell, being rendered correctly- they’ll play down in the colorist’s FCP project w/o being rendered. But we’re seeing a slight but perceptible color shift- black point is higher, lower contrast and a chroma shift towards yellow. The results are close but as I said are perceptible with the naked eye, and are confirmed by the scopes. Any ideas about why/how this could be happening would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
