Ok so I seem to know complicated things but not know the simple things… Anyway, can someone please explain what is meant when you get info on a movie and see it’s “color profile”? I sort of understand things like 4.2.2 and HDV (4.2.0 or something, I don’t care lol) but why then does color profile of HDV material show up as 1-1-1??? And why does the color profile of some SD footage I took on an Ikegami have a color profile of completely different (can’t remember) numbers whch are higher, when it’s not even “HD”?

Thanks, but that still doesnt explain what the “color profile” bit in QuickTime means because it shows HDV footage as 1-1-1??? It may have or may not have anything to do with color sampling such as 4:2:2 but I’m interested to know what it does mean :s?
